About Clean Air Cab
Based out of Mesa and Tempe, Clean Air Cab is Arizona's first carbon negative taxicab service. Its mission is to make it affordable and convenient for everyone to go green by offering green cabs at less expensive rates than traditional cab alternatives. Making Arizona Greener
The eco-friendly transportation company is launching in October 2009 with a fleet of 26 Toyota Prius, currently the most fuel-efficient hybrid auto on the market. The Ford Crown Victoria's traditionally used by cab companies releases approximately 160% more emissions than the Toyota Prius. The Prius also offers an extra 33 miles per gallon of gas - a gas savings of almost 1,000 miles per gallon across the fleet.
In addition to the substantial reduction of carbon emissions and improved mileage offered by its fleet, Clean Air Cab purchases carbon offsets and supports global reforestation by subsidizing the planting 10 rain forest trees monthly for each cab in service.
Green Courier Service
Clean Air Cab also offers a carbon negative courier service for local delivery of documents and small packages, which is based on a simple rate of $1.50 per mile for four-hour delivery, and $2.00 per mile for two-hour delivery.
About The Prius
The Prius uses innovative technology to lower emissions, via the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) combines gasoline and electric power to allow the gasoline engine to run only when it has to, shutting off at low speeds when the electric motor can exclusively power the car. The Prius maintains 50 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway, making it the most fuel-efficient hybrid on the market.
